The best rule with sheets is that you want to have at least three - one on the bed, one in the wash, and one in the drawer. Any more than that is a bonus because trust us: accidents happen, and it never hurts to have a few extra sheets in the drawer for emergencies. 

Just as with adult sheets, the higher the thread count, the softer the sheet. If you’re looking at buying a few cheaper sheets just to have as back-ups (and tbh, we recommend this) then it doesn’t really matter if they’re thin, but for regular use, it’s a good idea to invest in a slightly higher thread count for better comfort and breathability. 

When it comes to your baby's sleeping environment, you want it to be as soft and comfy as possible, but considering the fact that many babies have super sensitive and delicate skin, it helps if the fabric is hypoallergenic, low-irritant and breathable. We generally recommend cotton or cotton-blend fabric. Bamboo is also a great choice (especially in summer) and cotton-jersey can work well in winter.
